• Biography

    Laura O'Donnell was recently named the “2018 Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers, Woodward/White, Inc., for labor and employment litigation in San Antonio. She is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Laura leads the firm's Wage and Hour Litigation group and focuses on the defense of FLSA collective actions. In addition to this focus, Laura regularly defends employers against claims involving sexual harassment, employee competition and fiduciary duty breaches and discrimination, including EEOC claims. Laura also has experience handling matters involving executive contracts, Title VII and related state causes of action, FMLA, ERISA and most other employment-based claims. Laura has handled several appeals of employment decisions to Texas Courts of Appeal, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

    Laura has also received numerous other accolades. In addition to being named “2018 Lawyer of the Year,” she was also named “2016 Lawyer of the Year” for labor and employment litigation in San Antonio and Best Lawyers, Woodward/White, Inc., has recognized Laura as a Best Lawyer since 2011. Laura was recognized in Chambers USA 2017, Chambers & Partners, for labor and employment in Texas and Chambers USA 2017 identified Laura as an Up and Coming Leading Business Lawyer from 2005 through 2009. She has been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers, Thomson Reuters, from 2010-2017, and as a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star, from 2004-2010. She is listed as an AV® Preeminent Lawyer by Martindale Hubbell® Law Directory and received the San Antonio Business Journal, American City Business Journals, “40 Under 40 Rising Stars” award in 2006.
